I am starting to invest in a mutual fund for my non-retirement dreams.
I thought I would share some of my non-retirement dreams.
* A LONG trip to Australia and New Zealand
* A LONG trip to Europe - starting in England, including Denmark, Germany, Austria, and ending in Poland.
* A LONG trip to Israel
* My daughter's wedding (whether I like it or not, she will probably get married some day)
* A really nice ski boat
* A really nice fishing boat
* A 100 acre farm
* A LONG trip around the United States
What are some of your dreams?

I have got to say that my list of goals accomplished is longer than the list of things still to do! Probably because right now I am really focused on the house and getting rid of the credit cards. I will probably dream more once those two goals have been met.

My other dreams are more simple. Like being able to pay my bills, heat my home, and have food without having to worry about the money too much.

I do want a sports car/convertible but am looking in the $5k range. Nothing spectacular. I had to give mine up when I had my first child and am patiently waiting to get it back.
BUT reading all the replies reminded me I saw a round the world tour in a private jet. I forget how long it was but the price tag was $50k to see all the wonders of the world. I would LOVE to do that. It would be a lot cheaper if I could do this alone. Saving $100k for my spouse and I - yeesh. But for $50k maybe I can sway a friend. I thought it would be a good way to glimpse the world and see where we would want to travel further, more frugally.
I guess mostly my dream is not to "have to" work. I like working but am aiming by 40 not to "have to" work full time.

-Christmas in New York City and stay in the Plaza or something. And order great room service.
-Surf Camp in Costa Rica. You stay in your own beahc hut, surf instructors teach you how to surf, and you do it all week.
-Own a beach house investment property that I could rent out for vacations and use personally.
-work in France to learn French and take tons of weekend excursions all over Europe.
-like in Peru or Ecuador for a year and get some great mountian climbing in.
