E-Trade is offering $25 to open a savings account

December 6th, 2007 at 02:10 pm

E-Trade is offering $25 for any NEW customer who opens one of their new "Complete Savings Accounts"

The link to follow is

HERE!

Here's the great part. You apparently only have to open the account with $1!

So I opened an account with $1. I have to leave the money in the account for 30 days and then the $25 is mine.

According to the link

HERE, E-Trade bank is FDIC-insured up to $100,000.

$1 = $25

That's good money!

E*Trade has been hit hard lately, due to their involvement in the sub-prime mess. They've recently received a big cash infusion by a venture capital firm called... Citadel Group or something like that. While bankruptcy is no longer a danger, stocks have continued to languish at it's current price.

So, yeah, I guess I am not at all surprised that they would be offering perks to drum up business. Now is a good time to sign up for those who are interested in E*Trade. Big Grin

Ok, I just checked out the link, and it's apparently a savings account! Ok, that's explains the FDIC protections. Um, well, I guess so. There are similar institutions out there offering equally if not slightly better rates, but none I know of right now that includes a $25 signing bonus... especially within just 30 days.

So did either of you sign up for this account. I did the ING when they were offering the $25.00, but this is even a better deal. I am in on this one. The only thing I want to know is, once you have waited 30 days and received your bonus, can you close the account, or does it need to be open for a specific amount of time. I really don't want to have to read the small print, if someone already knows this answer. Thank you.
