Don't Do This

July 31st, 2008 at 01:59 pm

I wonder how many people are currently at risk of having an article like

Text is THIS ONE and Link is http://www.independentmail.com/news/2008/jul/24/anderson-woman-suffers-22k-loss-when-sock-stolen/
THIS ONE written about them?

This is why I am in favor of "cash envelopes" and not "cash socks".

Ummm...people who mistrust banking that severely tend to trust and hang out with people they shouldnt be trusting. I would not be suprised if her crack addict ex boyfriend walked off with the money. *Thats mean, not necessarliy true, but possible *

Some immigrant groups, such as the Vietnamese, distrusted our banking system and our law enforcement systems when they first came to the US. It stemmed from the problems they had encountered in their own countries. Hard working, they were also the victims of home invasions in this area, by their own people. These guys knew they had their money in their houses and would go in while the family was home to intimidate them into giving them the money. Fortunately, the law enforcement groups have worked hard to gain their trust. I sure hope that has cut down on the invasions and thefts. Hopefully, they also have learned to trust our banking institutions.
